A smile make over can transform and significantly enhance the appearance of your smile. A smile make over is the process of improving ones smile through one or more cosmetic dentistry procedures such as teeth whitening, veneers, white fillings, crowns or bridges. At Moonee Valley Dental we will discuss what you want your smile to look like as well as the things you currently don’t like about your smile. Generally, in a few short visits a smile makeover will restore chipped, cracked or discoloured teeth and restore your bite. Smile makeovers are customised according to your unique considerations.

We use Philips Zoom Blue LED light-accelerated teeth whitening to rapidly whiten your smile whilst protecting enamel and minimising sensitivity.

You can change your silver amalgam filling with a natural looking alternative. For small fillings tooth coloured composite resins are normally used. Larger fillings are best replaced with colour matched porcelain inlays, onlays or crowns. Porcelain or ceramic restorations offer superior aesthetics and strength.

A veneer is a thin layer of material usually placed over the front teeth, either to improve aesthetics or to protect the tooth surface from damage. There are two main types of materials used to fabricate a veneer, composite and dental porcelain. For porcelain veneers a thin layer of the enamel is sometimes removed from the tooth. A mould is made and sent to our local dental lab where the colour matched veneer is fabricated. The veneer is then bonded to the tooth using special bonding agents.
